Birla Mandir, Jaipur is a Hindu temple located in Jaipur, India and is part of one of the several Birla mandirs located all around the country. The grand temple is located on an elevated ground at the base of Moti Dungari hill in Rajasthan.
The temple is sometimes also referred to as the Laxmi Narayan Temple.
During the rule of Sawai Ram Singh, the city was painted pink to welcome prince Edward VII and Queen Victoria. Many of the avenues remained painted in pink, giving Jaipur a distinctive appearance and the epithet Pink city.
The Pink City's most famous landmark is the bustling Statue Circle. Located centrally, the busy spot may seem like an ordinary traffic intersection but is truly far from it. A popular hangout for locals and tourists, the Statue Circle surprisingly owes its name to its shape and not the grand Sawai Jai Singh statue it houses.
