Tatapani
Tattapani is a popular tourist attraction located at a distance of 25km from Naldehra in Himachal Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of 655 meters above sea level, Tattapani is well known for its hot sulphur springs, and draws many tourists every year. ‘Tatta-pani’ meaning hot water, has various hot sulphur springs located along the banks of the Sutlej River. Covering an area of 1square km, these sulphur springs are believed to have medicinal value. The sulphurous spring water is said to have curative powers that provide relief from ailments like joint pain, fatigue and skin diseases. People from all over the country visit Tattapani to take a dip into the sulphur water of the spring. This natural spring is pure and the temperature of the waters keeps varying depending on the water level of the river. The unique rock formations along the banks of the river make some of these springs into natural bathtubs. Some people also dig big holes in the sand, in the shape of small bathtubs, where hot boiling water emerges from underground and blends with the cold river water, making the water lukewarm and ideal for bathing. Tattapani is also dotted with several temples, thereby holding religious significance for the Hindus. People can also enjoy rafting and trout fishing at Tattapani, along the Sutlej River.
Best time to visit Tattapani can be visited all the year round, especially in winters when the sulphur springs make the place a little warm.Hot Destinations
